Discriminating qubit amplitude damping channels

چکیده
We address the issue of discrimination between two-qubit amplitude damping channels by exploring several strategies. For single-shot, we show that excited state does not always give optimal input, and side entanglement assistance has limited benefit. On contrary, feedback from environment is more beneficial. two-shot, prove in-utility entangled inputs. Then focusing on individual (local) measurements, find adaptive strategy.

On 1–qubit channels
The entropy HT (ρ) of a state with respect to a channel T and the Holevo capacity of the channel require the solution of difficult variational problems. For a class of 1-qubit channels, which contains all the extremal ones, the problem can be significantly simplified by associating an Hermitian antilinear operator θ to every channel of the considered class. The channel’s concurrence CT can be e...
متن کاملQubit Entanglement Breaking Channels
This paper continues the study of stochastic maps, or channels, for which (I ⊗Φ)(Γ) is always separable in the case of qubits. We give a detailed description of entanglement-breaking qubit channels, and show that such maps are precisely the convex hull of those known as classical-quantum channels. We also review the complete positivity conditions in a canonical parameterization and show how the...
متن کاملTeleportation via multi-qubit channels
We investigate the problem of teleporting an unknown qubit state to a recipient via a channel of 2L qubits. In this procedure a protocol is employed whereby L Bell state measurements are made and information based on these measurements is sent via a classical channel to the recipient. Upon receiving this information the recipient determines a local gate which is used to recover the original sta...
متن کاملAdditivity for Unital Qubit Channels
Additivity of the Holevo capacity is proved for product channels, under the condition that one of the channels is a unital qubit channel, with the other completely arbitrary. As a byproduct this proves that the Holevo bound is the ultimate information capacity of such qubit channels (assuming no prior entanglement between sender and receiver). Additivity of minimal entropy and multiplicativity ...
متن کاملSmall amplitude modelling of acoustic damping cavities
We will first recall the classical results for the laminar dissipation of acoustic energy in the boundary layer of a forced resonator. We then show how this result can be used in conjunction with a Helmholtz solver to calculate the laminar damping of a cavity of arbitrary geometry. The approach is validated by application to a trivial geometry for which the result is known analytically (HF1 ste...
